Love is a wonderful feeling,
full of ups and downs.
Sometimes you feel happy,
Sometimes you feel down.
But if there is one thing you can say,
It never lets you frown.
It may bite you, fight you,
tempt you, threaten you,
freeze you and scare you,
But it will never let you alone.
It melts you, it softens you,
It squeezes you ,it wrings you
It changes you again and again,
makes you pliable and soft.
Oh, such a queer feeling it is,
so infinitely close it makes you feel,
so infinitely distant it takes you,
so fierce and so protective it is
so hard and cruel it is, at times.
It cuts you to the bone,
chills your skin,
warms your blood,
quickens your pulse.
Exciting and invigorating,
Soothing and enduring,
In all its hues,
it never ever leaves you,
alone and untouched.
Of different types, Of different kinds,
Brings you together as never before,
A feeling created by God,
To help humanity to be close as one.
Let there be love everywhere,
be it cruel or be it tender,
without love, no life can thrive,
else all will shrink and die.
So, do remember, my dear friend,
Learn to love and live to give,
Cos’ life is short and ‘ere you know,
you will be treading the path above.
To the skies and to the air above
where you and the skies are one as one.
Love is a color, deep and warm
Love is a flower fragrant and calm
Love is a feeling, with its charm
Love is poem, mentioned in the psalm
Love is a caress, from a lover’s arm
Love is a cuckoo, singing in a farm
Love is a touch, tender in your palm
Love is love, means no harm
Good writing Jyothi…God bless you

You have painted the infinite colours of love on a canvas. Nice emotions:)
Thank you so much :))
“Fulsafa Pyaar ka tum kya jaano , tumne kabhi ‘Pyaar’ na kiya ” ‘Pyaar tou ‘sirf’ aur ‘sirf’ Heer,
Laila, Meera, Radha ne kiya ‘…….
* The point i want 2 make is : Love is ‘blind’, it has no colour, caste, creed, age bar ………. &
‘Sacrfice, kurbani, tyag, tapasya’ …. ka doosra naam hai ‘Love’….. just if someone says for eg.
‘i love someone’ doesnt ‘define’ love …… 2 me love is purely between 2 ‘Souls’ or ‘Hearts’, who
‘r’ 2 poles ‘apart’ & need not be ‘physical’ love ….. rest is material, artificial or possessive & not
so ever lasting or ‘lust’ for hunger ……..

well said, chandra. This little word ‘love’ has so much meaning in it that it is difficult to express in a few lines. And as you say , the highest form of love is in the form of sacrifice or tyag for another. That is the ultimate. However, love in all its nuances is a beautiful feeling. without love, life would not be life. Each and every form of love has a special meaning of its own.
very lovely pievce of poetry.
love is a dream which can come true
love is the wisdom in you
love is heart which beats as two
love is the emotion and feelings for you
love is the passion which grows each day
and nbrings about happiness in everyway.
Hi, Thank so much for the appreciation. And yes, you have certainly described it so beautifully. Words have been written on love through the ages and will be also. It is the most deepest and valuable emotion, which we humans are blessed with.
I havent finished with ‘Love’ as yet, I m not a critic of ‘love maker’ nor i m a breaker, my observation about ‘love’ is : like ‘God’ is one, love is also one, but it differs from person 2 person, person 2 animal, person 2 Nature, btw tangible & non-tangible, moveble & non-moveble, work place & home, ‘Patti , Patni & wo’ ………
another aspect associated with ‘love’ is ‘intensity’, ’emotions’, hate , trust , anger , jelous ……
but, in some form or d other, either analysis of each one of these would result into as, constituent or integral part of ‘Love’ & d subject is so vast that “those who enjoy it & those like
us, who are without knowledge” ……. both are ‘sufferers’ in some way or the other …….

Yeah I agree. Different people have different perceptions and feelings about love and yes there are other emotions asssociated with this. Either accompanying or generated as a result. But i think the purest form of love would be detached from all this. 🙂
yes this is a topic on which we can talk and discuss for ages..yes and i am sure most people have suffered or experienced the pleasure of it
Love is : stupidity, by force, by self imposing, between 2 & many, maniac, junoon ………….
Love is : 2 sing around trees, sher aur shayari, poetry, gazal, to write, silence, aankhon hi aankhon mein, isharon isharon ………………
Chandra Shekhar , BrooklynTea
Love : people love, but they have no time or they are so much pre- occupied in other occupation, that they forget to honour their ‘love’ ……….
Love : to scold or argue or at the heat of the moment to say for eg. ‘ i dont have time for your
stupid or silly questions’, yet you answer the stupid once, to further add on this is not your
‘yahoo chat’ ……… or to say ‘dont hide’, i have rubber bullets or tear gas …….. is also some kind of love ………
Love : these r my observations & i m not competent or not the right person 2 make comments,
one can even argue, if one doesnt have time, then why does one enter into ‘love’, here i think
one talks of ‘relationship’ & not love …… you have 2 be flexible, 2 give enough breathing space or freedom, 2 enable 2 express why is it, even under tight schedule ……. one continues 2 ‘love’ ……..
Chandra Shekhar , @BrooklynTea
Love : selfish or unselfish, pure or impure, need or want, singular or plural, married or unmarried ………
Love : short sighted or long, with vision or without, knowingly or unknowingly, willingly or not ………
one thing is for sure ‘they all point towards ‘LOVE’ …….. i suppose
But, i want 2 admit Lord Krihna’s ‘love’ for Sudama cant be described but, ‘felt’ …….. in 2day’s
terminology one can go 2 d extent of calling it ‘Gay or Lesbian’ & it would amount 2 #Abuse,
again, ‘Love’ in itself is so ‘huge’ that it can not be ‘defamed or abused’ ……
